My Voice

I do believe that everyone has something that they're good at and makes them special and unique. I would consider this to be my thoughts (process). Although my thoughts are not always shared, I believe that my thoughts and the way I look at the world is very different than many others.

I think positively with a very realistic view and what I feel to be a different level of understanding. I believe that this helps me create a way to deal with all the trials of life. In order to say more about this topic I would definitely need more time to think about it. I like to put a lot of thought into everything I do and questions that I am asked.

Research Project

Getting started on my research has been a pretty good experience. I am a little nervous going into this project because I still don't know everything to expect. I have a great mentor who is very supportive and understanding. Luckily, he has worked with many undergraduate researchers in the past and has a lot of knowledge on what to expect from them.

So far I have looked over some more reading material to get a better grasp of what is being asked of me. Because zero forcing is a topic that I had no prior knowledge on, it is a little bit difficult to remember all the terms and all but I am figuring things out fairly quickly. I am excited to get half of my project done as I am already very close to finishing one portion.

Basically, for mathematics research, in order to come up with a result you have to prove what you are saying. So for my research I will be finding patterns in zero forcing for bipartite graphs. After I find the patterns I will then make a general statement about the graphs. After I make the general statement, I will prove my statement. Using inductive and deductive reasoning as I did in my presentation (solving the even and odd problem) I will create a formal proof and I will have a new result. Just explaining that part has probably been the easiest part of my research so far, including the proposal but anyway, I am still super excited and I know all of the other scholars will do great just like I expect to!

My Fellow Scholars

Hello everyone,

I am so happy that we have made it this far in the process already. I can't wait for us to get into the summer and do a great job on our research topics. I'm super excited to spend more time with everyone and grow together as a cohort. I appreciate all the experiences we have had so far.

My fellow scholars and I are already starting to become closer and are constantly finding new ways to relate. This process keeps this experience interesting and entertaining. I plan to continue to find more connections and bond with everyone. It seems like we have done so much already (well, we have) and I know that there are just more great activities planned. I have fun laughing and joking with everyone, and to be honest I kind of feel like the joker of the group but I guess that's okay. I like how everyone else in the group has their own unique personalities and I keep finding out more about who everyone is each time we get together. This is going to be a great summer.
